Kara is Kayla's older sister. About twenty years ago, they agreed to be each other’s maids of honor. Kara is an exceptional wedding planner, so Kayla is pretty sure that she got the better end of the deal!

Luke is Seth's younger brother. Doctors claim that they are exactly the same height, but Seth maintains that he is a little bit taller.

Rylie is one of Kayla's best friends from college. She recently moved to Colorado and became very outdoorsy!

Kevin is Seth's old roommate from college. When he isn't tracking down the milk of an exotic animal or starting an argument about theology, you might find him writing a story.

Hope is Seth's sister. She and Kayla share an appreciation for musicals and a penchant for running into walls!

Parker is Seth's high school friend from North Carolina. Parker is a tinker, philosopher, and tactitian who could defeat you in any game of strategy.

Mollie is Kayla's close friend and colleague at Union University. She was the first to reach out to Kayla when she moved to Jackson!

Mollie Carter-Neal

Grant is the first roommate from college that Seth picked instead of having assigned to him. Grant flies planes for a living, but otherwise he is very down-to-earth.

Emily is one of Kayla's best friends and roommates from college. Kayla's first impression was that Emily might be too normal to be her friend, but thankfully she was wrong! (She is not related to Parker.)

Emily Ramsey

Lowell is Seth's friend from college. Whether it's disappearing into the wilderness for months at a time or disappearing into a book for hours on end, Lowell has a habit of disappearing and returning with more knowledge.

Avery is Kayla's niece. She and her aunt “KK” both love reading and ballet!

Clara is Seth's niece. She is a professional flower girl and is excited to be returning to this role!

<a href="https://rudysbbq.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Rudy's</a> is a great BBQ chain with a location in Killeen (20 min. from venue), as well as Waco and the Austin area. The bride highly recommends their baked potato with chopped brisket!

<a href="https://millerssmokehouse.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Miller's Smokehouse</a> in Belton is 30 minutes from our venue and was recently named one of Texas Monthly's Top 50 BBQ Joints.

<a href="https://coopersbbq.com/?srsltid=AfmBOoruQjaQECN4oKOZn_1tBNdzzVw7yN2rE9maeqYoCd-61wJadRQ0" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Cooper's Old Time Pit Bar-Be-Que</a> is another favorite of the Kemp family and has a location in Austin for anyone traveling through that area.

<a href="https://m.chuys.com/home" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Chuy's</a> is a fun Tex-Mex chain with a location in Harker Heights (20 min. from venue), as well as Waco and the Austin area. The bride recommends the free jalapeno ranch dip as an appetizer, and the mini-burrito with fajita chicken and queso as a meal!

<a href="https://kempnerbrickoven.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Kempner Brick Oven</a> is a German restaurant with great food and delicious baked goods, located 10 minutes from our venue. The bride often enjoyed their pretzel balls as a pit stop on the way to kindergarten in Lampasas!

Things to Do

In and Around Copperas Cove

South Park (5 min. from venue) has a playground and a nice walking trail near a local creek. City Park (10 min. from venue) has a large duck pond and multiple playgrounds for children of various ages.

The <a href="https://nmwfoundation.org/about-the-museum" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">National Mounted Warrior Museum</a> is a free world-class museum with exhibits for all ages educating visitors about nearby Fort Hood and the history of mounted U.S. soldiers. The museum is located just outside Fort Hood's main gates (15 min. from venue), so no military ID is required.

<a href="https://www.topseyranch.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Topsey Exotic Ranch</a> is a drive-though safari located 20 minutes from our venue.

Waco

<a href="https://www.baylor.edu/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Baylor University</a> is the bride's alma mater and has a beautiful campus! If you stop there, we recommend parking near Pat Neff Hall (<a href="https://dps.web.baylor.edu/parking-transportation/visitors" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">click here</a> for instructions to register for free visitor parking). From there, you can easily walk around Founders Mall, stop by the <a href="https://bearhabitat.web.baylor.edu/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">bear habitat</a> to meet Indy and Belle, and check out the beautiful <a href="https://library.web.baylor.edu/armstrongbrowning" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Armstrong-Browning Library</a>.

If you like HGTV, <a href="https:" />Magnolia Market</a> and its associated shops and restaurants are a fun excursion! Most of these stops can be spontaneous, but <a href="https:" />Magnolia Table</a> usually requires a reservation or a long wait.

Did you know that Dr Pepper was invented in Waco, and that there’s no period in Dr Pepper? The Dr Pepper Museum is a fun place to learn about all that, and, more importantly, to get a delicious old-fashioned Dr Pepper float. The Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum is a popular attraction in Waco as well.

If you’re already in Waco, the bride also recommends Fabled Bookshop & Cafe, Common Grounds coffee, Torchy’s Tacos, and Taqueria Zacatecas (affectionately known by Baylor students as Taco Z).
